Footsteps in Okmulgee, Oklahoma
One testimonial comes from Vicki Parrish, who purchased a 90-year-old farmhouse in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The property included an acre of land, with a vacant lot across from the pasture marked by a handmade cross and stuffed animals. Before moving in, Vicki had the house saged by an elderly Creek tribal member, who mentioned hearing "small footsteps" three times and subsequently "sent it away."
Adding to the mystery, the previous owner’s autistic teenage son, upon seeing the smudge pot and sage, expressed hope that the cleansing had rid the house of the footsteps. This was particularly striking as the family had never spent a night in the house.
Vicki later discovered that the cross marked the site where a young girl had perished in a shack fire. Stranger still, the stuffed animals at the memorial were continuously replaced with new ones, yet no one was ever seen doing so.
An Invisible Friend and Unexplained Events
Another anonymous submission recounts the story of a nine-year-old girl who developed an invisible friend. Soon after, strange events began to occur in the house. The television in the daughter’s room would turn on and change channels on its own, often tuning into Cartoon Network or Nick Jr. These occurrences frightened the family, particularly the six-year-old son, who refused to enter his sister’s room.
One night, the mother jokingly suggested that she could ask the "friend" to turn off the television. That very night, the television turned on at 3:00 a.m. The daughter unplugged it and covered it with a blanket, where it remained untouched.
Adding to the unsettling atmosphere, the husband later believed he had run over a little girl in front of their house, though no child was found. The next day, the woman’s father reported hearing a child crying for help around the same time. These events led the family to decide to move.
Voices from the Past at the Chickasaw Council House
An anonymous author shared an experience at the Chickasaw Council House Museum in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. While walking through the deserted museum, the author encountered voices from the past. Approaching the southern window of the small cabin, the author had a vivid vision of a heated government meeting, complete with shouting men, hands slamming on a table, and a knife plunged into the wood.

Ghosts of the South Side of Chicago
Justine Putnam recalls living on the south side of Chicago, Illinois, when she was nine years old. One night, she awoke to see a dozen ghosts flying over her head, wearing long dark brown cloaks. The ghosts were cheerful and seemed to pass through each other.
One of the ghosts stopped to pet her stuffed toy dog. When she opened her eyes, the ghosts exclaimed, "She’s awake!" before disappearing into the corners of the room. The next morning, the stuffed dog was leaning over lopsided. This experience sparked a lifelong fascination with ghost stories.
Ghostly Encounters in Hawaii Military Housing
Erica Wilson, a military spouse, shared her experiences after moving to Hawaii. As someone who can sense spirits, she was initially relieved that their new home seemed free of ghosts. Brian shares an unsettling experience in his new house. After living there for about three years, he saw the window curtain move as if someone had passed by. On another occasion, he saw a shadow of several little girls running down the hall. These incidents left him terrified and sleeping with a night light.
